sIgnificant fEast Days:
Some significant feast days in the Chaldean rite are the Assumption of Mary the Mother of Jesus and the feast of St George.
The feast of the asmption of Mary is significant to the Chaldean faith because it signifies the ending of Mary's earthly life and describes how she entered heaven to be with JESUS her son, God the Father and the Holy Spirit. It is said that she died in Ephesus and Angels came and took her body up to heaven. The feast day will be situated on the Saturday, August 15 this year.
The feast day of St George is important to the Chaldeans because St George was very true to the Christian Faith. He was first a well respected man by society but when he tried to save the Christians, he was put to death as a martyr.
